How to Limit Internet Speed for Devices on Your Router

Bandwidth limits keep one device from saturating the line. Routers expose this as QoS, Bandwidth Control, or device speed limits.

General steps

1. Log into the router.
2. Open QoS, Bandwidth Control, or Traffic Control.
3. Enable the feature and set your real WAN download/upload speeds if asked.
4. Add a rule for a device IP or MAC with a max rate.
5. Save and test.
