How to Factory Reset Router Using 192.168.11.1

Restore your router to factory defaults using the 192.168.11.1 software interface or the physical reset button.

A factory reset restores your router to its original settings, erasing all custom configurations (Wi-Fi name, password, port forwarding, etc.). This is useful if you forgot your admin password or face persistent issues. You can reset via the software interface at 192.168.11.1 or using the physical reset button. This guide covers both methods.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. 1

    Backup Current Settings (Optional)

If you want to restore later, look for 'Backup' or 'Save Settings' in the admin panel

    Tip

Save the file to your computer

  2. 2

    Access Factory Reset Option

Log in to 192.168.11.1, go to 'System Tools' or 'Administration' → 'Factory Defaults' or 'Reset'

    Note

Some routers call it 'Restore to Factory Default Settings'

  3. 3

    Perform Software Reset

Click 'Reset' or 'Restore'. Confirm the action when prompted

    Warning

All settings will be erased – including Wi-Fi password and custom rules

  4. 4

    Alternative – Physical Reset Button

If you cannot log in, press and hold the 'Reset' button on the router for 10-15 seconds with a paperclip

    Tip

Wait for the lights to blink, then release

  5. 5

    Reconfigure Router

After reset, log in with default credentials (usually admin/admin) and set up your network again

    Troubleshooting

Refer to your router manual for default login details
