You can change the router’s LAN address (for example from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.2) inside LAN or Network settings. Do this carefully or you can lose admin access until you find the new IP.
When it helps
- Two routers conflict on the same LAN subnet
- You want a memorable custom gateway
- An ISP gateway forces a specific private range
Steps
- Note your current gateway and connect with Ethernet if possible.
- Log in (login guide).
- Open LAN / Network / DHCP settings.
- Change the router IP. Keep it inside a private range.
- Adjust the DHCP pool so it matches the new subnet.
- Save. Your session will drop.
- Renew your PC IP or reboot it, then open the new gateway in the browser.
Warnings
- Do not set the router IP inside the DHCP pool.
- Do not use a public IP as a LAN address.
- Write the new IP on a label.
