Your router IP address is the private gateway you type into a browser to open the admin panel. It is not the same as the public IP shown by “what is my IP” tools.
Fastest method: check the sticker
Look on the back or bottom of the router for an address such as 192.168.1.1, 192.168.0.1, or 10.0.0.1, plus a username and password.
Windows
- Open Command Prompt.
- Run
ipconfig. - Find Default Gateway under your active adapter.
Mac
- Open System Settings → Network.
- Select Wi-Fi or Ethernet → Details.
- Find Router.
iPhone or iPad
- Open Settings → Wi-Fi.
- Tap ⓘ next to your network.
- Read the Router field.
Android
- Open Wi-Fi network details (wording varies by brand).
- Look for Gateway or Router under advanced details.
Open the IP to log in
Type http:// plus the gateway into the browser address bar. Then follow How to log into your router.
