How to Reset a Arris Router (Factory Reset)

Factory reset a Arris router or gateway. Button steps, what gets erased, and how to log in again afterward.

Use a factory reset on your Arris router when you forgot the admin password or need a clean configuration. This erases custom Wi-Fi settings.

Arris-specific steps

Arris gateways (often ISP branded) use a reset pinhole. Hold 10 to 15 seconds with power on. Reconnect using sticker Wi-Fi, then open the admin IP from the label. Many cable gateways also respond at 10.0.0.1 or 192.168.0.1. Brand hub: Arris.

General reset checklist

  1. Keep power connected.
  2. Hold Reset 10 to 15 seconds (follow your model if the manual differs).
  3. Wait for a full reboot.
  4. Join default Wi-Fi from the sticker if needed.
  5. Change admin and Wi-Fi passwords after login.
