How to Reset a Linksys Router (Factory Reset)

Use a factory reset on your Linksys router when you forgot the admin password or need a clean configuration. This erases custom Wi-Fi settings.

Linksys-specific steps

On most Linksys routers, press and hold Reset for about 10 seconds. After reboot, try 192.168.1.1. Velop systems may also reset from the Linksys app. Brand hub: Linksys.

General reset checklist

1. Keep power connected.
2. Hold Reset 10 to 15 seconds (follow your model if the manual differs).
3. Wait for a full reboot.
4. Join default Wi-Fi from the sticker if needed.
5. Change admin and Wi-Fi passwords after login.
