How to Reset a Xfinity Router (Factory Reset)

Use a factory reset on your Xfinity router when you forgot the admin password or need a clean configuration. This erases custom Wi-Fi settings.

Xfinity-specific steps

Xfinity gateways have a reset button on the back. Hold with a paperclip about 10 to 15 seconds until lights flash. After reboot, open 10.0.0.1 and use the password on the gateway label. You can also restart or reset from the Xfinity app. Brand hub: Xfinity / Comcast.

General reset checklist

1. Keep power connected.
2. Hold Reset 10 to 15 seconds (follow your model if the manual differs).
3. Wait for a full reboot.
4. Join default Wi-Fi from the sticker if needed.
